It has been a tradition
for the college authority to encourage members of the teaching staff to
engage themselves in various welfare activities, either individually or
in groups.
1: RESEARCH AND EXTENSION
The college authority
constantly encourages the teachers to do research works or to join
national , international seminars for research paper presentation and any
kind of publication. The college also provides Internet facilities for
the teachers to link themselves with the rest of the world in the field
of up-to-date information.[Table1,2]
2: ORIENTATION COURSES, REFRESHER COURSES
Teachers are expected to
update themselves in the latest development of knowledge by participating
in programmes like orientation courses, refresher courses, workshops, seminars
and conferences etc. (Regional, National, International etc. [Table-3]
3:
CONSULTANCY
Although the
college does not have a consultancy cell for the teachers they are
allowed facilities to be in good touch with the IQAC (Internal Quality
Assurance Cell) of Gauhati University for academic consultancy. The
college has an ICGC cell to help students regarding their future academic
prospect in different colleges in the state or outside the state as well
as placement information.
4: SELF-APPRAISAL
Another
important step for self-analysis is introduction of the self-appraisal
method by which individual teachers are expected to make a
self-assessment to identify the areas of deficiency and measures to be
taken for further improvement.
5: EXTENSION:
A) The Rangia College
Teachers’ Unit, which is an affiliated body of the Assam College
Teachers’ Association, plays a vital role in different activities. There
is a branch of ‘The All Assam College Employees’ Association’ as well.

glorious history of the Co-operative Movement in India, the employees of
the college solemnly founded a Co-operative Society under the
