Location and surrounding environment: The college is located
in a semi-urban area away from the mainstream of urban life.
The college is surrounded by villages inhabited by people
belonging to different castes and religions. The sylvan and
picturesque atmosphere contribute to a large measure towards
creating a sound academic atmosphere.
Plan
for future expansion :
The college will endeavour to make all efforts
(a) to bring the Commerce Stream under the deficit system of
Grants-in-aid.
(b) to introduce P.G. courses in some selected subjects.
(c) to open career oriented courses such as Communication English,
Computer & I. T., Tourism and Travel Management, Industrial
Fish and Fishery, Environment and Water Management etc. at the
U.G. level.
Extension
activities :
The college proposes to vigorously carry on Extension
activities in such spheres as drive against illiteracy,
creating awareness on health and hygiene, environmental
awareness, socio-economic surveys, entrepreneurship
developments.
Development of infrastructure :
The college proposes to initiate the following infrastructure
development works on a priority basis in the coming years -
(a) Construction of an Auditorium,
(b) Construction of Hostels for Boys and Girls separately,
(c) Construction of residential quarter Complex for the
Principal,
(d) Creation of a Mini-Sports complex in the campus.
Plan for quality improvement :
The College authority will form a Quality Improvement cell
with eminent educationists and teachers to draw up a detailed
and comprehensive strategy for achievement of quality in the
process of teaching and learning. The Academic Committee will
suggest innovative measures to make teaching and learning
process more effective.
Collaboration
with Institutes/NGOs :
The college will endeavor to make sincere efforts in the
direction of building up a collaboration with other Institutes
and different N G O for the purpose of exchanging expretise
and know-how in different fields.
Resource mobilisation plan :
The college is fully aware of the fact that dearth of
resources is the Principal deterrent in the way of its
development. Hence, the college proposes it chalk out a
detailed strategy for augmenting its resources in the coming
years. To begin with :
(a) by introducing career oriented courses,
(b) collection of donation from members of the teaching and
the non-teaching staff,
(c) collection of donation from the public,
(d) involvement of the Alumni Association in development
works,
(e) development of the existing fishery into a scientifically
modernized centre for Industrial Fish and Fishery,
(f) plantation of timber - yielding and medicinal trees in the
Botanical Garden, and
(g) organising charity and entertainment programmes.
